It’s amazing how some people will go to a certain extent just to annoy you.

Really shows how mature they are.

That attitude could land you in detention, kids. Don’t follow that example.

So what have I done so far (thats LEGAL for me to do)?

• Ran around the house screaming like a maniac between 11:30 – 11:40.
• Scared and woke up my sister.
• Yelled at Destinee on AIM and on the phone that I wooonn.
• Told my Father, who was still up.
• Opened a bottle of -not wine people- Martinelli’s Sparkling Apple Cider
• Shared some with my Dad.
• Yelled at Amber on AIM
• Do weird motions with my hands while running heavily on the floor (again).
• Grin extremely big.

 All right, anyway, I didn’t finish my story anyhow. I know exactly where it’s going. Perhaps during winter break I will edit it and put it on fictionpress, for now, I’m just going to give these hands a break. They’ve been typing much too much already.

And now, I will sleep. I will anticipate going to sleep early now (I haven’t gone to sleep before 12 this whole month. Maybe tommorow I can start).

Okay, go switch to your writing document, and stop typing your story, go eat. Seriously. Take a break. You deserve it. Thanksgiving is one of the best food days of the year. What’s not to like – theres stuffing, mashed potatoes, turkey, pumpkin pie, and GRAVY, not to mention. Keep that supply of gravy going.

Now, if you’re seriously behind in NaNoWriMo, the four day weekend would be a great day to get your wordcount back on track. Although I am a first year NaNo, I am two days ahead (40k! i can eat as much as i want for the next two days), I have lost words (and yes, I regained them over the weekend) and have came back. If you’re behind, here are some tips I scraped from No Plot? No Problem!:

“1) Pic a Saturday or Sunday when you have approx. two hour pockets of free time spread throughout the morning, afternoon, and evening.

2) Wake up early and have a large, healthy breakfast. Or some coffee and a cigarette, whichever is easiest.

3) Do three 30-minute writing sessions in a row, separated by 10 minute stretching/wrist-shaking/fetal-position-holding and complaing breaks.

4) Go have fun and come back and repeat the same 3/30/10 schedule feat after lunch.

5) Do something else, and after dinner and some post meal loafing, head to the computer and do another three 30-minute sessions.

6) At this point, you will have added 6,000 words to your tally, and can go to sleep dreaming of friendly agents bringing oversized checks to your door.” – Chris Baty, No Plot? No Problem! A Low-Stress, High-Velocity, Guide to Writing a Novel in 30 Days, page 136-137.

If you’re reading this post now and typing your NaNo, I want you to stop. Go to your story. Go to file, and click save. Save your story. SAVE it. I command you. Okay, so now have you saved it? Read on.

This is because I have just realized my Word does not save properly.

I am serious. I was just typing my story and was about to get off. I save it, close, and then re-check the size. I was surprised the size of the file did not go up. I got concerned. I had typed over 2000 words since this morning – how could it NOT have gone up? I opened the file again. And guess what? I lost those 2000 words.

I am not kidding you. I was frantic. I was freaking out. I went to my room and screamed at my sister as she laid on my bed and continued her homework. Okay, not screamed, but still. I sheded tears even. Okay, not exactly tears, maybe just little watery eyes. But I was frantic. My mind was whirlling and I felt sick. I felt as if I had just wasted time. But I have no idea what happened to those 2k words I had typed in the past few hours. They are now missing. I now have to remember the last thing I wrote, which was something about Halley talking to the student council president.

I am angry at myself, and Word. I know I saved it. I KNOW I did. I saved it right before I said bye to Destinee, and then I even remember the little thing loading in the bottom left corner. I know it. I wasn’t dreaming. Maybe you’re laughing yourself crazy right now, saying how stupid I am for not saving it, but I bet on my computer that I did save it. And thats saying a lot.

So what now? Now, I suppose, I will have to take a notebook tommorow and plan out what to write now. I also have to think of how I ‘ll find time to type those 2k words, and how I’ll do that, which won’t be likely at all. I had it all, but they all went missing and now I don’t know where to start off. I will start off a new document (maybe I shouldn’t use word this time), and I will add it with the wordcount I currently have now. I have witnessess who saw me typing those 2k words. Destinee and Caitlyn. They were there. Sort of.

I feel like kicking the wall. I am so angry at myself and whatever malfunction happened in my little word document. I lost those 2k words. I’m extremely upset and sad now. I typed a hell of a lot today.

Anyway, for those who have been doing NaNo for years now, when you verify your story are we going to have to send in a txt file to verify it?

If we are, I am screwed. Or I seriously need time to type out the 2k I just missed.

 Someone give me a laptop so I can type all day and get the 2k back. Someone give me time. I wish I didn’t have to go to school.

 Anyway, I skipped a day, but wrote like crazy and an hour and my internet just cut off so I couldn’t upload words. Now, I have 19049 words, which is good, as today we have to get to 20004 words. In my story, i’m kind of rambling on now, which is crappy, but I guess it’s good because it’ll probably turn out to be a really long story (which I need to make 50k words).

 If anyone has any plot ideas? Here’s whats going on in my story: MC, Halley, just got offered a manger job, and has now learned her brother’s girlfriend is pregnant. She reunited with old friend Dustin, who is the acoustic guitar player in the band she’s working for (Vibrance). Dustin & Halley used to be best friends, except faded out when Halley quit church choir, at twelve (or so).

When I got home, luckily, I finished my homework in school. For about 3 hours straight, I wrote more, and now I have 2606 words. I’m so overjoyed that I made it well over the 1667 words today! We’ll see about tommorow though, which is a busy day: Thursday I have lessons and don’t get home ’till late. I saved my story onto a flashdrive so if I get time in school I can work on it (doubtful).

 It’s actually 11:33 PM right now, meaning I have 27 minutes. I still have to think of my names; which shouldn’t be to hard, but I like creating names that fit the person’s personality and character. For my MC, I want her to have an elegant, shy (is there such a thing?) name. For the band members, I want the 2 guys to have totally different names that are opposites, I suppose. And for the last member (girl, which will either be the drummer or bass guitarist; still thinking about that one) I suppose I could choose any name for her.

Before I start writing my story, I want to just tell everyone a big good luck! I mean, could this be any more stressful? Nonetheless, it’s still fun in an insane type of way. I can’t wait to write, except I’m nervous about the whole thing. Why, why, why, you ask? I’ve never done anything like this and if my plot crashes in the middle of the month, I could be in serious trouble (with myself, because I’ll be angry at myself). The Wonderful, Amazing, “I Wish it Could only be Shorter” List

1. Choose plot. Choose wisely.

2. Make a list of all the Major Characters.

3. That includes their name.

4. And personality.

5. And their role.

6. Make a list of all the Minor Characters.

7. Name, Personality, and Role.

8. Make a list of events that will happen throught the novel.

9. Make a list of words that consist of great adjectives.

10. And verbs.

11. Think of how the story will begin.

12. As well as how it may end.

13. Choose the setting for the story.

14. Choose the ages for all the characters.

15. First or Third person / narratives?

16. Stock up on caffinated products.

As you can see, I have quite a few things to finish up. Number 16 is especially important. With every hour brings one more, or hopefully one less thing to do. EDIT: 12:08 AM; Oct 31 [Happy Halloween] My Plot(s) page has become a Plot! page.  Yes yes, go on. My plot isn’t very good and I blame that on myself, but give me credit, I just made it up 2 days ago, and I’ve just combined some now. Ahhh. Now that I have my plot, I can at least sit back and think more about it. The clock is ticking: 23 hours and 52 minutes exactly.
